Fall in Line!
City mogul, Jimi Wanjigi, took the Orange Democratic Movement leader, Raila Odinga, head-on, reminding him that the party does not belong to him but to all Kenyans.
Wanjigi was keen to denote that the party was founded by Raila, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and ANC leader Mudavadi Mudavadi. He added that Raila’s leadership of the party only matured when the co-founders departed.
"They all left, leaving it for Raila. But the party does not belong to Raila. It is a national party for all of us which must represent the nation of Kenya,” Wanjigi stated.
To New Beginnings
Chama Cha Kazi is the latest baby in town. The political party was officially listed as a fully registered one by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties.
The Moses Kuria-linked party, whose motto is “Kazi Pesa Umoja”, says it will advocate for the dignity of work, sanctity of enterprises, and unity in diversity.
Shock as Local Man Is Kidnapped
Abdulhakim Salim Sagar, a Mombasa-based businessman, was forcibly taken away by unknown men in broad daylight.
The men are reported to have trailed him for months before they forcefully grabbed him in front of his kin and sped off. However, his lawyer pointed out that he had been apprehended by law enforcement officers on the accusation of terrorism-related activities.

Incredibly Worrying Statistics
On August,19, Nyeri town police boss, Adiel Nyange, reported a drastically increase in suicide cases in the Mt Kenya region county.
Nyange confirmed that the county reported thirty suicide cases, 21 male and 9 female, in a span of one month. Police officers have since moved to gather data in order to help mitigate the situation.
"As a police force, we are concerned by this trend. In fact, we have embarked on a survey on why men are killing themselves in this county at a high rate. We are doing this through a questionnaire where we are interrogating them," Nyange noted.
Justice Will Prevail
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority on Thursday, August 19, intervened after reports of extra-judicial killings were leveled against police officers based in Nairobi's Kayole estate. John Kiiru, 38, is reported to have died in the hands of law enforcement officers in the late-night hours of August 18. His demise occurred shortly after he was arrested for violating curfew hours.
His death was followed by violent protests that ensued and lasted through the mid-morning hours of August,19. The protests happened in Kayole, Nairobi. Angered youth decried police brutality.
The Gift of Social Responsibility
A mother of two was reunited with her children after they ran away from their home in Dandora on August 18. The joyous reunion of the nuclear unit on Thursday, August 19 was a result of the power of social media.
The two children were found by good samaritans around Kenyatta University in the early hours of Wednesday, August 18. One of the samaritans captured photos of them and proceeded to tweet their location.
The photo went viral and reached their mother who proceeded to pick them at a security post close to the varsity.
