Portugal will battle with Germany on Saturday, June 19 at 7 pm at the Allianz Arena in Munich in a Uefa Euro 2020 Group F clash.

The Seleção (the Portuguese), captained by Juventus striker Christiano Ronaldo, will approach this tricky match against Germany with a revenge mission. Portugal lost 4-0 to Germany in the 2014 World Cup which the latter won.

The Portuguese will also be boosted by the fact they are the Euro defending champions and are currently ranked fifth internationally, eight spots ahead of13th ranked Germany.

Germany will be desperate to bounce back on Saturday, after losing to France in their opening match. To qualify for the knockout round of the European Championship for the fourth time in succession, they would have to secure a better result against Portugal.

Having won the tournament in 1996, the Germans then failed to make it out of the group stage in 2000 and 2004. They finished as runners-up at Euro 2008 before making it to the semi-finals in 2012 and 2016.

Betika provides you with in-depth analysis, probable lineups, possible outcome, team news and head to head statistics between the two giants.

The Uefa Euro 2020’s Group of Death (Group F) has so far lived to its expectations. The matches are intriguing as the group hosts France, Portugal, Germany and underdogs Hungary.

France and Portugal are expected to be among the finalists while many term Germany as surprise finalists for they are not rated among the favourites.

Germany embarked on rebuilding after they were knocked out of the 2018 World Cup in Group stages while defending champions Portugal have amassed an array of talents, boosting the strength of their squad since winning the 2016 Euros.

The Die Mannschaft (Germany) lost their opening Euro game to France 1-0 while Portugal cruised to a 3-0 win over Hungary, courtesy of captain Christiano Ronaldo brace. Germany are the favourites to win despite having a seemingly weaker squad than Portugal. The Germans have nonetheless won all the last four encounters against the A Seleção (the Portuguese).
