Lynne Wachira is a sports reporter and anchor who joined KTN in October 2013. She is a lover of all things sports with track and field as the first love. She was honored as the 2011 athletics journalist of the year by the country’s governing body, Athletics Kenya. She was awarded the dedication and consistency award due to her track and field coverage in 2012.

Wachira holds a diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism from the Mombasa Polytechnic University as well as a diploma in Olympics and Olympic Education from the International Olympic academy, Greece.

She previously worked at K24, a local TV station as a sports reporter and anchor as well as a contributor for the Kenyan runner magazine.

She has covered the Commonwealth Games, World Athletics Championships, World Cross Country Championships, Africa Athletics Championships, Nile Basin Football Tournament among other international sporting events.

Wachira has had the privilege of interviewing track stars like world and olympic champion Usain Bolt, 2009 world 800m champion Caster Semenya, 6-time cross country champion Kenenisa Bekele, 5-time world champion Paul Tergat, world record holder David Rudisha, among other stars.
