Nancy Kacungira

Nancy Kacungira joined KTN as a news anchor in December 2013. She began her media career as a radio presenter while still in University, working her way up from intern to Deputy Program Director by the time she received her first class degree. Nancy thereafter earned her Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Leeds, where she graduated with distinction.

In 2010 Nancy co-founded Blu Flamingo; a digital media management company in Uganda that continues to grow online brand presence for several clients.

In 2012 she began her TV career as a news anchor at NTV Uganda, and was selected the following year to host the Uganda chapter of President Obama's Town Hall with Young African Leaders, which was conducted between South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda via satellite in a broadcast that reached millions of people. 

Nancy is also a US State Department 2013 Professional Fellow, and a 2010 Uganda Young Achievers Award finalist.

She is passionate about social justice projects, and exploring the ways in which digital media can be used to widen the scope of African narratives.

An accomplished ballerina and contemporary dancer, Nancy also enjoys activities like white water rafting and swimming, and really loves to read a good book!
