Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Saturday, June 15, trolled the Deputy President over his perceived wrangles with President William Ruto.

CS Kuria surfaced an August 2023 video where the Deputy President had mocked him for arriving late at an event convened by the President.

At the time, CS Kuria had been asked by the President to show cause why he had arrived late for the performance signing contract event held at State House, Nairobi.

The CS, who had earlier taunted that there was an imminent impeachment loading, shared a clip where DP Gachagua was seemingly rejoicing over his predicament.

While CS Kuria did not divulge who would be affected by the impeachment motion, he juxtaposed how political fortunes had turned.

At the time in August 2023, when Kuria was locked out of State House, DP Rigathi Gachagua enjoyed a cordial relationship with the President.

Kuria had complained then that the DP was out to have him kicked out of cabinet alluding that he was behind the move to transfer the former parliamentarian from the Trade Ministry to the Public Service docket.

In the edited clip captioned, 'Mungu nifunze kunyamaza (God teach me to shut my mouth)', Kuria contrasted his own experience with Gachagua apologising to the Head of State for arriving late at Akurinu celebration.

Now, the CS has appeared close to the President while the DP has openly criticised the position taken by President William Ruto’s government including the revenue-sharing formula.

While speaking in Nyeri County on Saturday, June 15, Kuria further trolled Gachagua over his sentiments that he was a villager.

“The largest problem in Kenya is tribalism. There are some people who never go beyond their village and he wants to be a leader,” he made a snide remark towards the Deputy President.

“I have achieved everything now and will retire with President Ruto but in the remaining years, I will cause headaches to some people.”

The CS further stated he would hold a football tournament in Kiambu County where he would invite President Ruto, former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga among other leaders.

Gachagua’s name was conspicuously missing from the list of politicians who would be invited to the event.
