Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Moses Kuria has slammed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his recent National Intelligence Service (NIS) remarks .
In a harsh criticism towards the DP, Kuria told Gachagua to stop complaining about the Director of the National Intelligence Service adding that the DP is a member of the National Security Council and should also take full responsibility over what ensued in the Anti-Finance Bill mayhem.
"He is in the National Security Council yet complains about the Director of the National Intelligence Service. It was enough to have a President who is a teetotaller," he remarked in a series of tweets on Thursday.
The Deputy President has been on the frontline to push for the one-man, one-vote, one-shilling implementation. He argued that this resource distribution principle would see equal distribution of national resources.
In a quick turn of events Kuria, who is one of his harsh critics, continued his onslaught by detailing that the DP has been pushing for his personal agenda and vested interest in funerals while turning a blind eye on the national issues.
"The DP is the Chair of Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) which decides on money sharing with Counties yet he talks about One Man One Vote One Shilling in funerals," Kuria stated.
Gachagua, however, vowed to fight for the interest of the people of Mount Kenya.
Kuria further noted that the second in command takes part in decision-making on various key national issues in government parastatals.
These government parastatals include forums for consultation and cooperation between the national and county governments. This forum oversees matters of budgeting and financial management, borrowing, debt, and grants management.
"Other than being in the Integrated development and economic management, he is also the coordinator of Constitutional Commission and Independent Offices among the Commission for Revenue Allocation."
"He is the Chair of Nairobi Rivers Commission yet complains about demolitions done by his office," Kuria added.
Other leaders who have come out to criticise the deputy president include Former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who dared Gachagua to resign over allegations he raised against National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Noordin Haji.
In a statement on Wednesday regarding the chaotic protests in the country, Gachagua laid the blame on Haji saying he failed to act on his mandate.
