Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wamboka’s assistant was on Friday rushed to hospital after a horrific ordeal at the hands of alleged abductors.
Taking to his X platform, the legislator disclosed that his assistant had been missing for two days before he was reportedly found at a police station.
The MP went ahead to express gratitude for Kenyans who raised the alarm following the assistant’s disappearance.
“We managed to find our brother after two days of missing following a sad ordeal at the hands of the police,” the MP revealed.
“Thank you for your goodwill messages and raising alarms. He's recuperating and will be better.”
Wamboka’s revelation comes two days after the lawmaker raised alarm over the disappearance of his assistant whom he claimed had been held incommunicado.
The MP revealed that his efforts to search for his assistant in all hospitals and police stations hit the rocks as the assistant was unable to be found.
Wamboka went ahead to notify the speaker of the national assembly Moses Wetangula and the Inspector General of Police about the incident.
“This kind of intimidation targeting MPs who stood with Kenyans and voted No is backward and must end,” the MP urged.
Wamboka's remarks come against the backdrop of a High Court ruling two days ago which ordered the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and the National Police Service (NPS) to release all the abducted Kenyans held incommunicado.
The court issued the orders after 13 people filed a petition against the NIS and the Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome accusing them of abductions.
“Noting that it is over twenty-four hours since the abductions complained of took place, an order is hereby issued Directing the respondents, their agents and or servants, to immediately and unconditionally release the 2nd to 13th petitioners," the court directed.
