President William Ruto on Sunday declared that the country was set to experience a change owing to recent developments.

Speaking during a Sunday service at PEFA Ilkarian Church in Narok County, the President stated that Kenya’s growth trajectory was taking shape following citizenry involvement.

“Our country will change, I promise you, what you are seeing now is part of the process of reforming the country”, stated Ruto.

He further attributed the current political state to inaction from Kenyans and what he described as their seemingly inability to make decisions that spur progress.

Kenya has stagnated in the past because we failed to make progressive decisions,” stated Ruto.

The President, however, urged Kenyans to maintain peace and shun violent acts that resulted in looting and the loss of lives while airing their grievances.

“All I am asking is that Faith Leaders and all Kenyans let us pray for Kenya, and be peaceful let us not accept violence, looting and the loss of lives,”  Ruto implored.

Additionally, Ruto further referenced the government’s achievements citing that Kenya Kwanza was transforming the country.

Ruto particularly cited the drop in the price of fertiliser, gains recorded by the Kenyan shilling and the low interest rates as part of the growth trajectory that Kenya had surmounted.

He also added that Kenya would resolve any challenges that may plague the people through collaborating with the relevant parties.

Ruto’s statements come after the announcement of the creation of a National Multi-sectoral Forum (NMSF) which was scrambled on Saturday as an avenue to initiate dialogue with the Kenyan youth.

State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on Saturday kicked off the process by issuing a letter which explained how the government intended to engage the stakeholders in dialogue.
