Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has asked President William Ruto to axe senior government officials who are over the age of 60 years as stated in his initial address.

Through his Twitter account on Tuesday, Amisi listed officials he claims should retire owing to their ages.

These state officials include Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Speaker Moses Wetangula, Njuguna Ndung'u (Treasury CS), Alice Wahome (Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development), and Justin Muturi (Attorney General).

Others include Ezekiel Machogu (CS Education), and Davis Chirchir (Cabinet Secretary in charge of Energy and Petroleum)

According to Amisi, Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi is 63 years old, Wetangula is 67 years old, and should not be in office going by President Ruto's directives that those who are aged 60 years and above should retire.

"Dear Ruto, just in case you misplaced their IDs, Musalia Mudavadi is 63 years old, and Moses Wetangula is 67 years old."

"They should not report to work on Monday, and the following CSs Njuguna Ndung'u 64yrs Alice Wahome 65 yrs Justin Muturi 68 yrs Ezekiel Machogu 68 yrs," read part of the series of tweets.

President Ruto on Friday directed public servants who have attained the age of sixty years and above to immediately proceed on retirement.

The Head of State while addressing the press at State House in Nairobi, ordered the said officers to vacate office without further extension of the deadline.

"Henceforth, public servants who attain the retirement age of 60 years shall be required to immediately proceed with retirement," President Ruto directed.

"They are directed to do this with no extensions to their tenure of service," he added.

President Ruto further notified Kenyans to brace for more radical changes within the government.

He stated that the above decisions were part of the austerity measures taken by the government following the withdrawal of the Finance Bill 2024.

"These measures will be followed by changes in government that I shall be announcing."

According to the Head of State, the government was determined to carry out several recommended changes to improve the quality, efficiency, and transparency in serving Kenyan.
