Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Service (KPS) Eliud Lagat on Monday approved sweeping changes within the police service.
National Police College (NPC) Embakasi Campus Commanding Officer Jonathan Murray shared an internal memo with all Faculties, sections and Magadi Field Campus announcing the changes.
Richard Disii Rotich, who served as the deputy regional police commander of Rift Valley, was unveiled as the new deputy General Service Unit (GSU) commander while Edward Kipsang Changach was moved from a supervisory position to serve as the new County Police Commander (CPC) of Lamu County.
In other changes, William Samoei Kibiwott was transfered as CPC Lamu County to the commanding officer of Embakasi B Campus, Titus Nzioka Mutune was named the deputy commanding officer of Embakasi B Campus and Judy Mutinda LKalondu will now serve as the staff officer personnel the Kenya Airports Police Unit.
Joshua Kasoka was named the commanding officer at headquarters, William Sawe is the new head of operations at the GSU while Nickson Auka will serve in the police headquarters.
"This is to bring to your attention that the DIG KPS has approved deployment of the following officers," the internal memo signed by Murrey read in part.
Judy Gichumba was named officer in charge of leadership and management faculty at B campus while Bernard Mbatha will be the deputy director of operations at police headquarters.
Charles Chesir is no in charge of transport at GSU, Mwanadoyo Mayaa takes the Gender and welfare department at GSU and David Kigai will be the deputy commander at the headquarters.
Cleti Kimaiyo, who served as Siaya County police commander , was moved to serve as deputy head of GSU’s Recce unit.
James Mamir will be in charge of training and Vitalis Adawa was transferred to the headquarters.
Philomen Leshoo was named the sub county commander Rachuonyo.
The reshuffle marks Lagat's first major change since he was sworn in into the role at the tail-end of last month.
