Popular Kenyan actress Wanjiku Mburu alias Mama Baha famed for her popular acting role on Citizen TV’s Machachari family drama, on Tuesday appealed to the government to help their family rescue her missing brother who was abducted in Mogadishu Somali in 2014.

Taking to her TikTok account, the popular actress who has in the past written a letter to former President Uhuru Kenyatta appealed to Kenyans to push the government to take the necessary action. The brother was abducted alongside his cousin in Mogadishu.

Wanjiku also narrated the heartbreak she encountered after receiving a call from her brother several years down the line. The brother told her he was being held in captivity. All this while, the brother said he has been in a cell, cuffed and his movements limited. The last time he had called his family was in 2014, shortly after he had been abducted.

‘’He went missing in January 2014 and in March he called us for a brief moment and shared to us what had happened and since then we have not heard from him,’’ the actress narrated.

Wanjiku narrated that her father called her frantically asking where she was. Concerned over the tone her father was using, she inquired from her dad what was wrong, who subsequently informed her that her brother had contacted him and requested to speak with her.

The actress obliged and remained on standby. The brother then called her and informed her that he had been locked up in a prison, in solitude and unable to communicate with the outside world.

‘’I received a call with a number from Somali and normally guys I don't receive calls from  unknown numbers but this one I answered and heard a voice that I had not heard for 10 years speaking while sober minded,’’ Mama Baha narrated.

‘’Shii, it is Kajijo(George), have you forgotten me already? I told him how I can forget you yet there is not a moment, a day or an hour that I don’t think about you,’’ she added.

The actress added that the call from her brother has been tough on her mentally. The revelation that he has over the years been held in a tiny cell not knowing what day or year it is has particularly been hard on her and their family.

Wankiku added that the brother told her that he only knew what year it was after only gaining access to a mobile phone.

She has therefore requested President William Ruto to help her family bring back their kin home. The brother, according to the narration, informed her that his abductors had kidnapped him over the move by the Kenyan government to send troops to Somalia in an attempt to restore peace.

The suspected Al Shabaab militants told him that he was a prisoner of war and demanded that he reaches out to his family and inform them to ask the State to withdraw her soldiers.
