Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday, October 12 put his political woes aside to enjoy a delightful dance to the amusement of online users.
Gachagua, whose tenure as the Deputy President of Kenya is in genuine danger of coming to an end after two years, was spotted dancing to the viral hit song 'Set It', alongside a popular Japanese influencer Koki Nakaya.
In the video, Gachagua was captured all smiles as he freely tried to mimic the amateur dance choreography of the Japanese influencer.
The DP, dressed in a casual shirt, blue jacket and black pants, appeared to have little care as he danced the evening away to the delight of a cheering crowd.
Kenyans.co.ke has since established that the DP made a cameo appearance at a Japanese restaurant at the Muthaiga Shopping Mall and was challenged to a dance by Koki, whose content mainly revolves around African dance and comedy.
On Saturday, the DP also casually engaged with members of the public at The Hub in Karen in the company of his wife Dorcas. Tens of his supporters who spotted him gathered around in a bid to get a photo with one of the most popular figures in Kenyan politics.
Gachagua's latest antics were that of a man who is under immense pressure after a spate of events which unfolded in the past week. His tenure as President William Ruto's number two is under serious threat after the National Assembly voted in favour of his impeachment.
Amid an ongoing impeachment process, Gachagua continues to make public appearances, and on Sunday, October 13. he graced a church service at the ACK Diocese in Embu. The service doubled up as a celebration of 34 years since the establishment of the diocese.
Sections of leaders allied to the Deputy are set to accompany him, although an interesting plot twist is that Gachagua will be in the home county of Embu senator Alexander Mundigi, who controversially declared support for Gachagua's perceived Mt Kenya nemesis Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.
With his options thinning, the embattled DP is set to appear before the Senate this week for the trial to defend himself against 11 charges which include gross violation of the Constitution, promoting ethnic discrimination and undermining national unity through divisive public statements.
Earlier this week, Justice Lawrence Mugambi referred the cases challenging Gachagua's impeachment to Chief Justice Martha Koome who is in turn expected to constitute a three-judge bench to hear and determine the matte
