Siaya Governor James Orengo joined a fleet of guests for his son Michael Orengo's wedding ceremony in Nairobi.
Micheal tied the knot with his lover Samatha Luseno in a colorful white wedding on Saturday, a year after the families finalized dowry negotiations. The wedding took place at the ACK All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
Taking to his official X page, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka congratulated the newlyweds noting that he attended the event.
"I was pleased to join my friends, Siaya Governor James Orengo and Betty Murungi, in celebrating Michael and Samantha's wedding today at the Nairobi All Saints Cathedral."
"Michael and Samantha, may your marriage bring you unrivaled joy and eternal love. My family wishes you all the best as you embark on this new chapter together." Kalonzo wrote.
Also in attendance was Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo who wished the newest wedded couple in town a great life ahead.
"Michael is the son of James and Betty Orengo while Samantha is the Daughter of Evans and Marrie Luseno. I wish the couple the best in their future together." Owalo wrote.
Former Jubilee Chairperson David Murathe, Former Cabinet Secretary without portfolio who also served as Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, and Muhoho Kenyatta were among the distinguished guests in the high profile and exquisite wedding.
The church wedding comes after the couple held a high-profile dowry negotiation ceremony that was graced by Kenyan politicians including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Other notable leaders present at the event were Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, and former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo, who hosted the visitors, shared photos of the event on his social media accounts.
"I welcomed my brother Orengo James in Vihiga for dowry negotiations between the Orengo and Luseno families. Congratulations to Michael and Samantha for honoring your kin and culture - that which defines our heritage and unites our people," he stated.
Known as Nyombo in the Luo community, Michael was accompanied by his family and friends for the negotiations over the bride price as dictated by the traditional dowry ceremony.
