Several properties were put up for sale on Monday through public auctions by various auctioneers in Nairobi and across the country, as the tough economic times continue to take a toll. The properties involved entire companies, hotels, and multi-storey residencies.
In advertisements published in the local dailies, the auctioneers put up properties among them two hotels, four residential apartments, two companies, and an office suite in Nairobi's Westlands area.
The hotel on auction is the Nothern Galaxy Hotel located in Isiolo town where the auctioneer has put up the entire piece of land that hosts the hotel.
According to the auctioneer, the entire property extends to 0.16 hectares (0.4 acres) approximately and is developed with a six-storey hotel. The store construction from the second floor to the rooftop is incomplete.
''All that parcel of land known as Isiolo Township/Block V/4 Northern Galaxy Hotel, Isiolo County, registered in the name of Northern Galaxy Hotel Limited g/t Executive Super Rides Limited c/o P. O. Box 24830-00100 Nairobi. The property is situated in Isiolo Town along Isiolo Nanyuki Road next to Shell Petrol Station,'' a notice from the auctioneer read in part.
Additionally, the property has an entry porch, restaurant, lobby, store, kitchen with pantry, reception, corridor, and a parking facility among other amenities.
The property is being auctioned by Garam Investments and will be available by way of public auction on Monday, March 17 at their offices in Nairobi.
Further, the auctioneer has put on auction the New Al-Hamdu Palace Hotel which is located at the junction of 14" Street and Eastleigh Second Avenue within Eastleigh Section II, Nairobi City County.
Meanwhile, a residential apartment in Nairobi's Umoja Estate has been put up for auction by Keysian Auctioneers.
The property, identifiable as House No. Q63 is a semi-detached bungalow located within Umoja I Estate and sits along an unnamed lane about 200 meters west of Moi Drive, near Joystar Academy in Nairobi County. The property is connected to main services, including electricity, piped water, and sewer services.
Companies
In Nairobi, two properties have been put up for sale by way of public auction including an office suite in Parklands and a prime light industrial property located within the Nairobi industrial area.
The property in the industrial area is developed with a four-storey office block, which includes an attached go-down (plinth area of 4,700 sq. ft.), a powerhouse, and a guard house (plinth area of 190 sq. ft.). It also offers accommodation and office space, along with other amenities.
''All that parcel of land known as L. R. No. 12596/140, Mandeep Enterprises Limited, Industrial Area, Nairobi, registered in the name of Manjit Singh c/o P. O. Box 18188-00500 Nairobi. The property is located off Road A, within the Industrial Area, Nairobi City County,'' a notice from the auctioneer read in part.
The other property in Westlands is a 31-unit building located at the TRV Parkwest in Parklands and has up to 15 floors with office suites and a restaurant.
Outside Nairobi, an auctioneer has listed an entire apartment complex consisting of a five-storey residential block with over 18 two-bedroom units, an external ablution block, and a gatehouse.
The freehold property is located along the Kakamega-Mbale-Kisumu tarmac road within Manyatta Centre, approximately 2.4 km south of Mbale town and 1.7 km north of Majengo Centre. The property is situated at GPS coordinates 0.063854, 34.721929.
In Kajiado County, a residential property has also been put up for sale and is located approximately 435 meters off Magadi Road.
''The property lies within GPS Coordinates 1925 34.975, 3642018 E. Developed on the property is a five (5 No.] bedroom master suite maisonette and a single-level bedsitter unit for domestic staff,'' a notice from the auctioneer added.
Josrick Auctioneers is also handling the sale of a four-bedroom maisonette located in Nyali, Mombasa. Both properties are set to be auctioned on March 4 and 6 at the auctioneer’s offices.
