A company based in Westlands, Nairobi, has issued a notice announcing the planned auction of two industrial properties belonging to former Thika Town Member of Parliament (MP) Patrick Wainaina alias Jungle.
In the notice published in the Daily Nation's March 10 issue, the company invited interested bidders to bid on the properties on March 25, 2025. It will take place at the company offices on Karuna Road in Nairobi and will kick off at 11 am.
The first property on auction is on the parcel of land known as L. R. NO. 4953/1238 located in Makongeni, Thika.
“The property identified on the ground as Jungle Macs EPZ (Jungle 1) is situated within Makongeni area of Thika, Kiambu County,” the notice read.
To get to the property from Thika Town, bidders are advised to proceed for 3.73 kilometres through Garrisa Road and turn right at Delta Petrol Station. They will then follow the earth-surfaced road for 600 metres before arriving at the premises.
The 1.93-acre property is developed with two go-down blocks, a loading and offloading bay, an office block, a store/laundry block, and a workshop. Godown block A accommodates; a receiving or drier area, cracking machine area, physical sorting area, packaging, and storage while B accommodates the chopping and sorting area.
The second property the auctioneers are going for is also within the same vicinity and just about 500 metres from the first property.
Identified on the ground as Jungle Macs EPZ (Jungle 7) the parcel of land known as L. R. NO. 6/1072 measures approximately 2.46 acres and is developed with three go-down blocks a sentry block and a loading and offloading bay.
Godown Block A in this property houses a receiving or drier area, a cracking and machine sorting area, a physical sorting and packaging area, and a fabricated pasteurizer room with block B accommodating a loading or preparation area, a machine unit area, and a grading and packaging area.
In block C, four cold rooms can be located. A two-storey block, the ground hosts a generator area, changing rooms, and washrooms while the offices are located on the upper floor.
Mains electricity, piped water services, and a septic tank and sewer line for drainage are already connected to both places. An annual revisable rent of Ksh9,216 on the first property and Ksh30,000 for the second property is applicable.
"Bidders will be required to produce a bidding deposit of Ksh10 million by way of cash or bankers' cheque before being allowed to bid," the notice concluded.
This notice comes barely a month after reports broke that the auctioneers were pursuing the former lawmaker and a business partner for unpaid loans linked to their macadamia processing plants.
