11 students sustained injuries in a stampede at Kitui Teachers Training College Monday night over what was thought was a terrorists attack.
Security dogs in the institution reportedly started barking and the students thought the school was under attack, causing them to jump off hostels in a bid to escape.
When the police arrived at the scene, they combed the college grounds and a nearby forest but did not find any security threat.
This is the latest in a series of false terror attacks that have been circulating Kitui since Sunday.
Kitui CID boss Shem Nyamboki confirmed the incident and sought to assure residents that the police are doing their best to ensure safety in the area.
