The family of Naomi Wangare, the woman who was found murdered on February 18, has spoken up on the last moments leading up to her death.

Naomi, 29, was brutally assaulted and murdered, with her body being found by neighbours in the Embakasi area a few yards from her home.

In a death that has rocked her neighbourhood, authorities are still trying to locate two men who witnesses say were the last to see her alive. The two are also believed to be her killers.

Naomi's husband, Cornel Ekaset, had a particularly eerie account of the moments before and after learning of his wife's tragic passing.

"I came back to the house and I had a nap, then I had some strange dreams and I saw a vision of my wife being assaulted. Waking up, I looked next to me and my wife was not there," he told media.

Moments after he woke up, he heard a knock at the door, with one neighbour breaking the tragic news.

He added, "Once I heard the news, I did not even react. I just went to the police station to confirm whether it was true."

According to witnesses who were present at the scene moments after Naomi lost her life, the deceased was in the company of two men before the discovery of her body.

Naomi's mother, Violet Namasaya, revealed that she only learnt of her daughter's death after being informed by neighbours, who tried to repel the perpetrators on the night she died.

"One neighbour showed me the head of my daughter. I heard that when she was struggling for her life, one neighbour hurled a stone at the scene, scaring the perpetrators away," she said.

Eyewitnesses further reported hearing Naomi's screams, but by the time they arrived at the scene, the 29-year-old had been killed. Her body was half-naked, indicating she had been assaulted before her death.

The mother also recounted seeing gruesome marks on her daughter's neck, with autopsy reports confirming Naomi died from strangulation.
