Lawyer, politician, and academic George Wajackoyah has requested President William Ruto to tame his aide, Farouk Kibet, and advise him to settle down.

Speaking in Siaya County on Saturday, Wajackoyah warned that aides like Farouk are tarnishing the president's reputation and misleading the country.

''If you did not do what you did with Raila, this country would have burned, but we don't want to see this country burn. Mr. President, I want you to go and tame Farouk and his group, telling them to settle down because this country is bigger than them,'' Wajackoyah warned.

Farouk is a close aide to President Ruto and serves as his assistant.

He is known for wielding significant influence within the government, with some leaders describing him as a "co-president" due to his role in relaying instructions from the president to cabinet secretaries and other officials.

According to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Farouk is an overstepper in his roles. Gachagua previously claimed that Farouk tried to control his office and solicited bribes from individuals seeking appointments. He labeled him the 'co-president'.

''Farouk Kibet is not a small man; he is a co-president in this country, and he runs the government. Everybody reports to him: the IG of Police, the Head of Public Service and Cabinet Ministers. William Ruto issues instructions to Cabinet Ministers through Farouk Kibet. Ministers tremble at his very sight,” Gachagua alleged during an interview with KTN on Monday, April 7.

The former DP revealed that most of his wrangles during his tenure were with Farouk, whom he said he couldn't allow to control him.

Wajackoyah was speaking during the burial ceremony of George Nyang'ira Oduor, Raila's bodyguard and aide, when he further advised Ruto to invite Butere Girls' students to State House and iron out the unfortunate events that were witnessed in Nakuru during the National Drama Festival.

Wajackoyah told Ruto that currently, school-going children in the country dislike him because of the events.

''Mr President, I want you to think the way I would have thought if I were the president, when you go back home, invite Butere Girls, and their principal, have tea together, thank them, and then visit their school and harmonize the relationship with the school children,'' Wajackoya advised.

Hell broke loose on Thursday in Nakuru when police officers were sent to the venue of the festival to block Butere Girls from performing 'Echoes of War' a play written by former Kakamega County Senator Cleophas Malala.
