A Climax Coach passenger service vehicle (PSV) has been involved in a road accident at Kimende in Limuru, with an unknown number of passengers having sustained injuries.
The Nairobi-bound bus overturned at the Kimende hotspot on the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway, with the exact number of casualties yet to be reported.
According to a witness, the bus driver was allegedly speeding when the incident occurred, despite the passengers voicing their concerns.
The Motorists Association has, however, lashed out at the management of the bus, accusing it of constantly neglecting the plight of its passengers.
The association further called for the revocation of Sacco's licence to protect the lives of hundreds of travellers who use the bus services.
Additionally, the association and other social media users who have used the bus before alleged that the buses had fostered a culture of overloading both passengers and cargo.
''Innocent travelers entrust you with their safety, then you kill and maim them because of pride and arrogance. Such repeat offenders should be banned. Human life is sacred."
The accident comes just a week after another Climax Sacco bus was involved in a road accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
This is after the bus was involved in a head-on collision with a long-distance truck on the highway.
On February 17, another bus from the sacco was involved in a road crash at Awasi in Kisumu County after it rolled off the road.
The bus, which was full of passengers travelling from Busia to Nairobi, left several passengers with injuries.
In 2022, another 63-seater bus from the same sacco overturned on the Koru–Muhoroni, road on July 16, after the driver swerved to avoid hitting a boda boda rider.
