Two auctioneering companies have announced plans to dispose of 16 vehicles if owners fail to claim them within the next 30 days.
S.K.Dhabu Motors Limited and the Windsor House auctioneers said the vehicles and several motorcycles have been lying in their yards, and at a police station.
In a gazette notice dated Friday, May 12, the S.K Dhahabu said that it will sell four vehicles that have been lying at its yard, either through auction or private treaty if the owners fail to claim them within the specified time.
According to the auctioneer, the owners of the vehicles must pay all outstanding storage charges and incidental costs to the company before they can be allowed to collect their cars.
"NOTICE is given pursuant to section 5 of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38), laws of Kenya to the owners of the Motor Vehicle to take delivery of the said motor vehicles which have been stored at S. K. Dhahabu Motors Limited, within thirty (30) days from the date of this publication, upon payment of all outstanding storage charges and incidental costs including costs of publishing this notice," the notice said.
On the other hand, the Windsor House auctioneers said they will auction six vehicles and six motorcycles which have been lying at the Isinya Police Station if owners fail to claim them within 30 days, from the day of publication.
The vehicle brands include a T. Starlet, a white minibus, a black T Sienta, a white M Demio, and a black Peugeot. The motorcycle brands include a blue Tuktuk Piaggio, red captain, red boxer, a blue boxer, a red shinery, and a green shinery.
Owners of the vehicles have also been urged to pay all outstanding costs if they want to collect them, otherwise, they risk auctioning.
"NOTICE is issued pursuant to the provisions of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the laws of Kenya and following authorities and order under the miscellaneous application Case No.E169 of 2025 in the Chief Magistrate’s Court at Kajiado, to the owners of motor vehicles, motorcycles and any other items which are lying idle and unclaimed within Isinya Police Station, to collect the said properties at the said police station upon payment cost for this publication," the notice stated.
The announcement comes days after the seven companies in Nairobi, Kitui, Kilifi, and other areas also announced plans to auction more than 100 vehicles, spare parts, motorcycles, and bicycles, through a gazette notice dated May 2.
The auctioneers included the Wamua Auctioneers, A-Plus Auto Garage Limited, Matrac Kenya Limited, Windsor House Auctioneers, Petfriend, Garam Investments, and Star Gold Enterprises.
The auctioneers noted that they will dispose of the items in 30 days from the day of publication through private treaty or public auction.
Owners who were interested in collecting their items before they were disposed of were also urged to ensure they pay all the outstanding costs first.
