The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 60 job opportunities at a company in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, targeting graduates from the agency.
In a statement on Wednesday, June 4, NYS indicated that the available positions are for fabricators with a basic salary of Ksh 51,087.
“The National Youth Service Employment Liaison Office is thrilled to inform you about job opportunities in Dubai, UAE, for trained fabricators," the statement said.
The statement added: "This is your chance to work with top employers, gain international experience, and earn a salary.
The qualified candidates will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing fabrication processes and procedures.
They will also collaborate with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
“Our client, a leading fabrication company based in Dubai dealing with steel, structural, and industrial fabricators, as well as pipe work for ship repair and rigging, has an opportunity for NYS-trained fabricators who are eager to develop their skills overseas,” the notice reads.
The qualified candidate should have a diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
The applicant must, however, have completed a course in welding and fabrication, Mechanical Engineering (Production), or any metal fabrication-related course.
Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
Additionally, candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
A traveling passport is required, and those who pass the test but do not have a traveling passport will have their passport fast-tracked.
The NYS stated that it is committed to connecting NYS graduates to opportunities, both locally and abroad.
