President William Ruto's administration will remain steadfast in ensuring that it fully delivers on its mandate, despite setbacks and opposition, according to Senator Samson Cherargei.

In a statement on his official X account on Thursday, June 26, the Nandi lawmaker and Ruto ally reiterated that the president will remain "unshaken" in his focus on transforming and ensuring the country's economic and political stability despite the recurrent demonstrations.

"President Ruto remains unbowed, unshaken, and more buoyant & committed in delivering transformation in the country. Kazi Bila Break," the senator posted.

Cherargei, who was commenting on yesterday's demonstrations, further claimed that there was a deliberate move by some unnamed individuals to infiltrate the peaceful demonstrations and cause Infrastructural destruction.

He added that law enforcement agencies should kickstart a probe and expose those who he alleges financed and caused mayhem at the demonstrations, a move he claims eclipsed the original motive of the protests - to commemorate those who lost their lives during last year's anti-finance bill demonstrations.

"The unfortunate events of yesterday in the guise of peaceful demonstrations were an act of lawlessness, impunity & abuse of law that the planners, financiers, and executors must be investigated and prosecuted!" the senator said.

"The burning, killings, maiming and looting of businesses and disruption of peace in a few areas must not go unpunished!"

Speaking in Kilifi County on Wednesday, President Ruto reiterated that protests should be held in line with the law, without descending into chaos or destroying people's property.

According to the president, all leaders and politicians should adopt a collaborative spirit, regardless of their political affiliations or motives, to advocate for peace and unity in the country.

The head of state,  who was speaking during the burial of the father of Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung'aro, further reiterated that he will remain committed to ensuring that critical sectors such as housing, agriculture, and health are well taken care of.

"We must make sure that the demonstrations we hold are peaceful. The demonstrations should not lead to the destruction of property because we do not have any other country where we will go if things become tough here," Ruto said.

"The most important thing is our unity as a nation. We may be of different opinions and strategies, but we must have a nation first. We must be united as a nation," he added.
