Members of Parliament have approved 15 nominees for appointment to five Constituency Committees of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
In a statement on Tuesday, August 12, the National Assembly relayed that this was in line with the provisions of Section 43(4) of the National Government Constituency Development Fund Act, Cap 414A, and the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Regulations, 2016.
The 15 nominees will join committees in five constituencies, including Isiolo South, Lungalunga, Kuria West, Homabay Town and Kitui South.
"This House adopts the Report of the Committee on National Government Constituencies Development Fund, laid on the Table of the House on Wednesday, 6th August 2025, and pursuant to the provisions of section 43(4) of the National Government Constituency Development Fund Act, Cap 414A, and paragraphs 5(2) and (10) of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Regulations, 2016, approves the list of nominees for appointment to the following five (5) Constituency Committees of the National Government Constituency Development Fund," the statement read in part.
In Isiolo South, Kadar Osman Ibrahim and Muktar Hassan Ali were nominated to serve as the male adult representatives in the committee, while Mariam Huka Sama and Biftu Hassan Bure will be female adult representatives and Halkano Huka Hache as a representative for people living with disabilities.
The Lunga Lunga constituency received one nominee, Salimu Bakari Boi, who will serve as a representative for people living with a disability.
The largest number of nominees was for the Kuria West constituency, which received seven total nominations across the three categories.
For the adult male category, Chacha Mwita, James Robi Wambura and Gichere Pius Mwikwabe were nominated, while Bhoke Christine Nchamah, Maurine Akata Maroa and Maroa Sophia Robi filled the female adult representative position.
Lastly, Susan Robi Mwita was nominated as the representative for persons living with disabilities.
Homa Bay Town and Kitui South constituencies also received one nomination each, with Silas Odero Muta being nominated as representative for persons living with disabilities in Homa Bay and Timothy Kamwila Muasya as the male adult representative for Kitui South.
Earlier this year, on March 5, the National Assembly approved several other nominees for appointment to 100 Constituency Committees of the NG-CDF to fill a governance gap left after the mandate of the previous 290 NG-CDF committees expired.
The remaining 119 constituencies were then urged to expedite the submission of their proposed committee members to the NG-CDF Board for vetting and parliamentary approval. At the time, 190 constituencies had yet to submit names for consideration.
