The Public Service Commission has released the list of candidates and members shortlisted for the appointment of the position of Chairperson and members of the National Land Commission.
The selection panel for the recruitment of nominees on Wednesday, September 24, stated that the shortlisting was made after reviewing applications that were submitted by August 27, 2025.
"After considering the applications, the selection panel shortlisted candidates for the positions of Chairperson and members of the National Land Commission," part of the statement reads.
The ten candidates shortlisted for the position will be interviewed on October 1, and the remaining on October 2.
On October 1, the five candidates to be interviewed by the panel are Rebecca Kavutha Mutia from Kitui, Abdikadir Oman Aden from Garissa, Gilbert William Opanga from Vihiga, Monicah Nanyumuk Chentrich from Nakuru and Abuga Kennedy Kaunda from Kisii.
On October 2, Nelly Karimi Mbugua from Meru, Saeed Mutua Mwangi from Kitui, Justa Wavinya Mwangi from Embu, Humphrey Kimani Njuguna from Murang’a and Abdillahi Sagaf Alawy from Kwale.
In the statement, 51 candidates were shortlisted to fill the eight NLC member positions advertised.
The panel noted that the interviews of the 51 candidates will be done from October 3, October 6 to October 9, while others will be interviewed on October 13 and 14, 2025.
The commission urged members of the public to submit objections to the names of the shortlisted candidates before September 30, 2025.
“Members of the public are invited to avail any credible information of interest relating to any of the shortlisted candidates through sworn affidavits to the Secretary/CEO via email nlc2025@publicservice.go.ke or hand delivered to the Office of the Secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission situated on the 4th floor Commission House, Harambe Avenue, Nairobi on or before 30th September, 2025,” the statement reads.
They are also urged the members who had applied for these roles to access the list of members shortlisted on the Public Service Commission website.
The panel noted that the interview will be conducted on the dates mentioned at the Public Service Commission(Commission House), Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, urging them to arrive 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled interview times.
