Nairobi and nearby counties are set to experience a gradual rise in temperatures and reduced rainfall, according to the latest weather forecast report from the Kenya Meteorological Department,
In the forecast, Nairobi will experience morning rains over a few areas on Friday, October 10, 2025, with temperatures expected to range between 26°C and 30°C during the day and as low as 6°C to 9°C at night.
Weatherman predicted that from Saturday, October 11, through Monday, October 13, Nairobi will experience cloudy mornings breaking into sunny intervals with a few showers in some areas.
The department added that other parts of the Highlands East of Rift Valley such as Nyeri, Murang’a, Embu and Kirinyaga, will also experience the same pattern with sunny afternoons and light showers.
Western part of Kenya, Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Basin, are likely to experience afternoon showers and thunderstorms with a temperature range of between 30°C and 9°C.
According to the department, areas in Coastal and North-Eastern will experience sunny weather with isolated rains.
It also warned that the rains may be accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms and strong winds in the coastal regions.
The department predicted that counties like Makueni, Machakos, Kitui and Kajiado and Taita Taveta will expect mostly sunny weather in the morning throughout the period.
Weatherman predicted that these areas will have sunny intervals in the mornings and afternoons with light showers in a few parts of the regions.
The coastal regions will also be mostly cloudy at night with a daytime temperature to stay warm between 31°C and 32°C, and night temperatures will range from 11°C to 14°C.
“Rainfall is expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the Southeastern lowlands and North-eastern Kenya,” part of the report reads.
Weatherman urged the citizens to exercise caution during the rainy periods.
