The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced the release of the teacher assessment and examination results for 2025.

In a notice on Tuesday, October 21, the council relayed that colleges could access the results through the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) Teacher Education (CBATE) portal.

"We are pleased to announce that the examination/assessment results for the following programmes have been officially released and are now accessible to the colleges via the CBATE portal," the statement read.

However, only colleges that have made full payment have received their results.

Among the results available are the Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE), Primary Teacher Education (PTE), Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) and Teacher Certificate in Adult Education (TCAE).

Those who sat for the Diploma in Special Needs Education (SNE) parts 1 and 2, Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (DSTE), Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) can also access their results at their respective colleges.

The release of the results coincides with the start of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

Over 960,000 candidates are expected to sit for this year's KCSE examination as the country edges towards phasing out the 8:4:4 system completely in 2027.

The students will kick off the national assessment with oral papers for foreign and sign languages such as German, French, Arabic, Kenyan Sign Language and Music for the whole week.

After the oral papers, they will sit for the practical examinations, which will begin on October 22 and run through October 31. The theory written papers will then start from Tuesday, November 4, to Friday, November 21, 2025.

On the Competency-Based Education (CBE) front, the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for Grade 6 students is scheduled to take place from October 27 to October 30, aligning with the Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), which targets learners with special needs at the intermediate level, which will run from October 27 to October 31.

The Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Pre-Vocational Level Education Assessment (KPLEA) will be conducted over nine days, starting on October 27 and concluding on November 6.
