The Ministry of Education has announced that the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will be released in December and January 2026, respectively.

Speaking on October 29, Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba stated that KJSEA and KPSEA results will be out in December 2025, while KCSE will be released in January 2026.

Nationwide Grade 6 KPSEA began their examination from October 27 to October 29, and KJSEA is ongoing and ends on November 3, 2025.

In his statement, Ogamba also addressed the challenges that students and exam administrators are facing during the rainy season.

He said that, for instance, this morning, he was informed that there were officers who were having difficulties due to poor roads and bridges.

Ogamba added that to solve this, the government has standby choppers in command centers where they can be used to administer examinations.

"We have choppers on standby and a command centre at KNEC, where when these particular officers come upon this challenge, they could call to the centre and choppers would disperse the examinations and ensure that examination papers are delivered," Ogamba said.

According to Ogamba, the ministry is working on introducing drone technology to end these ongoing calamities experienced yearly during the examination period.

"We are working on a policy right now to see how to leverage drone technology so that in the future,  we could use drone technology to deliver to those particular places to reduce the chances in  Kenya, because it happens every year," he added.

KCSE candidates began their oral paper for German, French, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign language on  October 21, while practical exams commenced on October 29 and will run through until October 31. The written papers will be concluded on November 21, 2025.

KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njengere had earlier revealed that 996,078 students are undertaking the KCSE examination in 2025.

On October 27, more than 2.4 million learners from KPSEA and KJSEA began the assessments across the country.

Out of these, the ministry said that 1,298,089 were Grade 6 learners sitting for KPSEA, and the rest, 1,130,669  learners in Grade 9, were taking KJSEA examinations.
