Nandi Senator Kiprotich Arap Cherargei has stated that the results of the November 27, 2025 by-elections indicate that President William Ruto and Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki will secure victory in the 2027 General Elections with ease.

In a post dated November 28, 2025, Senator Cherargei described the outcome as a clear sign that the pair will overrun opponents without difficulty, leading to President Ruto’s second term.

The senator’s comments followed the conclusion of by-elections in 22 electoral areas across Kenya, filling vacancies in parliamentary, senatorial, and county assembly seats.

Cherargei congratulated all broad-based government candidates who won seats in various counties, constituencies, and wards.

He highlighted resilience, determination, hard work, and commitment during the campaigns as factors in the victories.

The senator praised the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), noting an exceptional performance led by party leader President William Ruto.

He described the results as a mark of absolute confidence by Kenyans in UDA, identifying President Ruto, Deputy President Kindiki, and broad-based partners as the biggest winners in the 2025 by-elections.

He claimed and listed members of the opposition, including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Boni Khalwale, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, former Attorney General Justin Muturi, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, among others, as the biggest losers.

The by-elections were conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on November 27, 2025, with polling stations open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Vote counting began immediately after polls closed, with tallying at constituency and ward levels.

IEBC Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon commended stakeholders for adhering to timelines from the August 2025 gazette notice.
