The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has announced that it will conduct its grassroots elections in the remaining 20 counties early next year.
In a statement on Thursday, November 4, the National Election Board (NEB) Chairman Anthony Mwaura said that the elections will be conducted on Saturday, January 10.
"Following the joint meeting between the UDA Party's National Executive Committee (NEC) and the NEB, chaired by Deputy Party Leader Kithure Kindiki, it was resolved that the party conduct Grassroots Elections in the remaining 20 counties where the polls have not been held," Mwaura said.
Among the counties where the elections will be held are Baringo, Bomet, Elgeiyo Marakwet, Kericho, Nakuru, Nandi, and Trans Nzoia.
Other counties include Uasin Gishu, Samburu, Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, and Murang'a.
The elections will also be conducted in Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, Kakamega, and Vihiga Counties, according to Mwaura.
Aspirants interested in party positions in these areas have been encouraged to register through the party's portal between December 4 and December 23.
"The official notice for purposes of the Grassroots Elections will be issued by the National Elections Board (NEB) on December 4, 2025," Mwaura said.
"After the registration of the candidates, aspirants will have a campaigning period that will run up to January 10, when elections will be conducted," he added.
This comes a week after the party bagged 12 seats during the highly contested by-elections that were conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on November 27, 2025.
The by-elections were conducted in 22 electoral areas across the country, which were meant to fill vacancies in parliamentary, senatorial, and county assembly seats.
"The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party’s victory in 12 seats during the just-concluded by-elections is a clear indication that President William Ruto remains popular among Kenyans," Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar said on Friday, November 28.
