The Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Ndegwa Muhoro held a meeting with the Deputy Director of the United States (US) Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Boinnet took to Twitter to post photos of the meeting stating that Kenya had expressed willingness to widen cooperation between the two countries on matters security.
“I met the Deputy Director of FBI Andrew McCabe and we agreed to widen cooperation on a range of security issues,” said Boinnet.
A source privy to the deliberations revealed that they also discussed a variety of issues key in particular, the country’s security preparedness ahead of the August polls.
The meeting comes in the wake of a travel advisory alert by the US State Department citing the upcoming party nominations and the General Election as a potential recipe for chaos in the country.
The Department noted that there had been unrest due to political events in the past, and its citizens should be alert and avoid political gatherings as violence could easily erupt.
The new advisory expires on the 31st of August 2017 after the end of the General Election.
