The National Police Service (NPS) has officially announced the date for the next recruitment of police constables following the lifting of court orders that had previously blocked the exercise.
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja confirmed that the recruitment will take place on November 17, 2025, across all sub-counties in the country.
According to NPS, applicants must meet several minimum requirements, including being Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years, holding a valid national ID, and having at least a D+ in KCSE with a minimum D+ in either English or Kiswahili.
Candidates are also required to be physically and medically fit, with a minimum height of 5ft 8in for males and 5ft 3in for females. Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment or training.
At the same time, those with criminal records or pending charges will be ineligible, while National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the minimum requirements are encouraged to apply.
The NPS maintained that the recruitment process will be free, and anyone found engaging in bribery practices to influence the exercise will face legal action.
How to Apply
Applicants have been advised to download and complete application forms from official websites, including the various police unit websites, which include the NPS, DCI, and the Administration Police (AP).
Additionally, candidates can also be able to access the forms at all Huduma Centres across the country.
On the recruitment day, candidates must report to designated centres by 8am with original and copies of their academic certificates, ID cards, birth certificates, and, where applicable, NYS discharge certificates with at least a 'GOOD' conduct rating.
