Intricate details have emerged as to why an international French aircraft manufacturer that toured the country last week selected business magnate Chris Kirubi for a flight tour.
According to Dassault Aviation international Sales Manager for Africa Oliver Zuber, the company was targeting Kenya’s elite class and business community in the country.
“We have taken Brand Kenya’s Chairman Dr Chris Kirubi on a flight tour as he is among our target market.
“We hope to close a couple of deals with the country’s business class as they stand to benefit the most,” Zuber said.
Dr Kirubi tried out the company’s Dassault Falcon 2000 LXS private business jet that came with a glaring price tag of over Ksh3 Billion ($34,000,000).
Dassault Aviation has sold over 550 Falcon LX worldwide, with 70 being sold in Africa but none is owned by a Kenyan.
Pundits immediately drew parallels in Kirubi’s pick by Dassault as a strategic move considering the flamboyant businessman's worth and business acumen.
Kirubi, a self-made entrepreneur, industrialist and philanthropist is reportedly worth over Ksh30 Billion ($300 Million) according to Forbes.
The Dassault Falcon 2000 LXS private business jet prides itself in exquisite taste, elegant design, top notch comfort, exceptional luxury and flexibility for the filthy rich.
It is, however, not clear if he ordered one from Dassault.
