Kinale Ward Member of County Assembly Njuguna Muriithi has asked the President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration to conduct investigations into Jubilee protests that saw his father
hit by a stray bullet.
Police are yet to issue a statement on the incident that has left Mr David Warui hospitalised at the Kijabe Mission Hospital for almost two weeks.
The MCA's father was hit during protests that took place at the Fly Over area, Naivasha, where protesters were demonstrating against a Political Parties Dispute Tribunal decision that awarded Nyandarua Woman Representative Wanjiku Muhia the Jubilee nomination ticket.
"We want a foolproof query to establish what transpired during the protest as my father was not among the demonstrators," Mr Muriithi told journalists.
The incident ended in the death of one youth identified as Samuel Muiruri who was buried over the weekend.
A section of prominent leaders in Nyandarua has called for strict action against the armed police officer who is accused of having shot the two civilians.
"Justice must be done. The police officer who shot the deceased is well known, why use live bullets, we want him dismissed from police service, arrested and charged, we cannot allow criminals masquerading as police officers to continue serving in the police," former head of civil service Francis Kimemia explained.
