Raila Tells Off Muthama, Demands that He Respect Kalonzo

Opposition chief Raila Odinga is said to have scolded Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama following his ongoing feud with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

An aide close to Odinga disclosed to a local newspaper that Odinga personally spoke to Muthama and urged him to respect Kalonzo and work together with him.

"Raila has personally spoken to the senator and asked him to work with Kalonzo," the aide to Raila stated.

Muthama's recent fallout with Kalonzo exposed a tense relationship between the two with the Machakos senator reportedly declining to pick Musyoka's calls on Friday.

Previous efforts by Odinga to reconcile the two failed after Muthama declined to show up for a meeting in which he was to meet Kalonzo.

The Senator instead went to a funeral in Kitui on Saturday where he launched scathing attacks at the Wiper party leader.

Sources close to the Wiper party leader disclosed that he was not happy with Muthama campaigning against the party's candidates.

Meanwhile, a leading political analyst, Pascal Ndei has disclosed that the Kalonzo-Muthama wars are a supremacy battle for the control of the Kamba vote block.

According to him, both Kalonzo and Muthama are interested in being the political kingpin of the region.
