ODM MCA Aspirant, Dominic Muya, Attacked in Machakos

An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MCA aspirant was on Monday brutally attacked and his nomination papers stolen in Machakos.

Dominic Muya who is aspiring to be the MCA for Mwala/Makutano Ward was ambushed by three men just as he drove into his home in Kivandini village.

The aspirant disclosed that the thugs demanded his nomination papers which he was to present to the IEBC on Tuesday.

He added that during the 11 pm incident, the gang emerged from a neighbouring house under construction and attacked him immediately he got into the compound.

He abandoned the car and ran for his safety only to find the story on fire minutes later.

“I heard a loud bang minutes later only to return and find my car on fire,” Muya explained.

Mwala OCPD, Henry Rukaria confirmed the incident assuring that the authorities were investigating the matter.

Addressing the issue, ODM officials condemned the attack terming it a disgraceful way of intimidating political rivals.

ODM County Secretary General Dominic Kaleli confirmed that the party would replace Muya's nomination papers and ensure he is cleared by the IEBC before the set deadline.
