Willy Paul's New Song "Digiri" Launched on the Same Day as 2017 Groove Awards Ceremony

Controversial Kenyan artiste Wilson Abubakar Radido commonly known as Willy Paul has released an apparent diss track against Awards organizers who have deliberately locked him out of nominations for two consecutive years.

In the song that was released on the same day the Groove Awards gala was taking place, Willy Paul states that he is not interested in the awards and he is unaffected by the lack of recognition.

His Swahili song, loosely translated says that he has something that he wants to reveal and it is that there are no degrees or awards in heaven so he is not bothered with not being given awards.

Willy Paul's song goes on to proclaim that God, the angels, Adam and Eve all do not have degrees, implying that the achievement is of no consequence to a person going to heaven.

The artiste's song also implied that being overlooked is a direct attack on him and even though it is not a big matter, he advised that love for one another is the answer.

"Ukininyima gilasi, hiyo si mambo bali ni diambo na haitaleta diambo, tuonyeshane upendo (If you refuse to give me an award that's not a big deal but it causes strife so let us show love)," conveys part of the lyrics.

The prominent artiste has conspicuously missed from the Groove Awards nominees list and concerts for two years now along with his counterpart Bahati.

The two were apparently blacklisted following a publicised feud over a song that Willy Paul released and Bahati claimed was his.

Willy Paul's social media has also been littered with posts expressing his discontent over the perceived punishment with the most recent one having been posted a few days after he walked out of the Groove Awards Nominations ceremony.

"Don’t expect them to appreciate your hard work: human beings should not be trusted. If you trust them:: you will only get hurt badly.. get used to being alone.: let ur only option be CHRIST THE KING.. don’t let the earth and the things in it define you.. you’re better than them all," the post read.

Here is Willy Paul's new song, "Digiri" (meant to mean Degree).
