Assistant Chief David Obango Nyawade Found Dead at a Guest House in Bondo

The lifeless body of a Bondo Assistant Chief for Utonga Sub-County was on Monday found at a lodging in a hotel within the town.

The deceased, Mr David Obango Nyawade, was a father of seven at the time of his death and is believed to have checked into the guest house on Saturday where he spent the night.

According to South West Sakwa Chief, Mr Peter Atego, the government officials were informed of his demise by a woman who wished to remain unnamed.

"I was informed by a lady who works at the lodging that he (Obango) took a shower in the morning but immediately started complaining of high fever before returning to his room where he is suspected to have collapsed and died," Mr Atego explained.

The chief went on to convey that the Assistant Chief had been ailing and that could have led to his death.

Bondo County Commander Richard Ajwang' confirmed the incident but refuted the Chief's sentiment saying that he was not aware that Mr Obango had been ill.

He termed the death as unfortunate and untimely and urged residents to remain calm as proper investigations were being conducted.

The body was taken to Bondo Hospital Mortuary.
