Wilson Wanjohi and Ann Muhoja: Kenyan Couple that Held Sh100 Wedding to Get Free Maternity Services

The Kenyan couple best remembered for holding a Sh100 wedding has once again hit headlines after it emerged that they had been offered a free maternity package by the Komarok Modern Health Care located in Utawala area in Nairobi County.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the Hospital's Managing Director Mrs Harriet Nyamu stated that Wilson Wanjohi and Ann Muhoja, who are expecting their first child, would be offered free prenatal and postnatal services at the hospital.

"We made the offer back in January when different people offered to organise a wedding for them and we too wanted to do something to help them. Since we have done a few other jobs with Ndung'u Nyoro (a remarkable social media personality) so we told him we would offer a free maternity package when the time comes," Mrs Nyamu narrated.

She added, "Mrs Wanjohi will get free gynaecological consultations, free tests related to pregnancies, free delivery be it normal or caesarian, immunizations for the baby and postnatal check-ups after the baby is born. We are preparing for them to come in this week and speak with the doctor so that we can see what else can be offered."

The couple came to the limelight in January after they married in a ceremony that cost them only Sh100 at the Community Christian Worship Church in Kasarani.

Mr Wanjohi and Ms Muhoja, who used the 100 shillings to buy rings, touched the hearts of many well-wishers who went ahead to offer them different appreciation goodies.

Among the offers were a Sh3.5 Million wedding held at the lavish Bliss Garden in Nairobi and an all-expense-paid honeymoon at the Kenyan Coast.

A real estate company gave the newlyweds a plot and a greenhouse worth Sh1 Million in Isinya, Kajiado County.

Wanjohi and Ann currently reside in Kasarani area in Nairobi.
