Jubilee Party Members to Pay Sh10 Million for a Plate of Food at President Uhuru Kenyatta's Fundraising Dinner

Reports have emerged indicating that individuals who wish to attend a reservation-only fundraising dinner in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election campaign on Friday will have to part with at least Sh10 Million for a plate of food.

The dinner organised by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) known as the Friends of Jubilee Foundation, will be held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

"We have been told that those who will pay the amount will automatically sit with the President and the DP at the high table and will at least have a chance to interact with them," a billionaire businessman disclosed.

The Foundation ran a newspaper advert on Sunday asking party members to attend the dinner and help raise the money.

"The Foundation invites you to support the future of Kenya at a dinner with President Uhuru. Come let us put our efforts together for our beloved nation," the advert read.

MPs and Jubilee Party officials interviewed on Monday, however, declined to name the business people running the Foundation.

Gatundu North MP Moses Kuria highlighted that there was only one foundation in Jubilee raising money for President Kenyatta's campaign but refused to name the businessmen behind the organisation.

"You cannot name the names behind the foundation but they are friends of Jubilee Party and President Uhuru Kenyatta," Kuria stated.

Kiharu MP Irungu Kang'ata said he had not heard of the Foundation while Mara MP Kareke Mbiuki indicated he knew about the group but was not aware of the people behind it.

Jubilee Party Vice-chairman David Murathe maintained the Foundation was legally registered with the NGO's Coordination Board.
