2 Killed After Ambulance Crash in Machakos

Two people lost their lives on Friday evening after an ambulance they were traveling in was involved in a tragic road accident along Masii-Machakos Road.

The vehicle belonging to Machakos County collided head on with a private Nissan Patrol which is said to have been overtaking.

The driver of the ambulance and a medical attendant died on the spot while three occupants of the Nissan sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Machakos Level Five Hospital.

Confirming the incident, Mwala OCPD Henry Kimathi stated that the accident happened at a stretch which was under construction.

Reports indicated that the Nissan was being driven by the son of a former cabinet minister who hails from the region.

A section of area leaders called on the government to fast track completion of the road adding that the stretch had already claimed three other lives.
