A fight erupted between the National Super Alliance (NASA) and Jubilee Party supporters in Mutuati, Meru County on Saturday afternoon.
This was after a rally by NASA principals led by flag bearer Raila Odinga who took their campaign to the vote-rich county.
The supporters engaged in running battles before police officers were called in to restore calm.
Odinga, who was accompanied by running mate Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula traversed the region calling on residents to support the Alliance during the August General Election.
On Friday, the NASA presidential campaign team was in Tharaka-Nithi County before moving on to Meru on Saturday.
This was the Alliance's second tour of the two counties after receiving a warm welcome in February.
Speaking to residents Odinga denied inciting resident during a campaign rally in Kajiado County.
This was after the Jubilee Party wrote to the NCIC calling for investigations over remarks made by the NASA flag bearer.
The Opposition Chief promised Meru residents free secondary education in September after winning elections.
He accused the Jubilee Government of failing to fulfill some of the key pledges in their manifesto during the 2013 general election.
Odinga pointed out the current high cost of maize flour stating that NASA would ensure there was food security in the country after August.
The ODM Leader condemned killings related to land invasions in Laikipia stating that his administration would strive to end the killings.
Opposition point men in the region stated that they would support the NASA since Jubilee had failed to honour most of its promises.
