Kamba Community in Mombasa Ditch Hassan Joho and Declare Support to Jubilee's Suleiman Shahbal

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho will have to work extra hard to secure victory in the coming elections.

This is after the Kamba community living in Mombasa endorsed Jubilee party candidate Suleiman Shahbal, vowing to vote him in.

At a meeting held in Lohana hall in Mvita, the community blamed the incumbent of abandoning them in the four years of his rule.

They complained that none from the community had been nominated to the Member of County Assembly.

No member of the community had also been appointed to senior positions in the county government.

The Kamba community is the second largest community in Mombasa after the Mijikenda. Their support for Joho in the previous election saw the governor secure victory.

The delegation was led by Kamba Community Advisory Council chairperson Philip Ndolo.

In the 2013 elections, Shahbal, running on a Wiper party ticket came second to Joho.

The Mombasa gubernatorial race is proving to be a hot race between Joho, Shahbal and Mombasa senator Hassan Omar of Wiper Party.
