Daughter of Late Veteran Politician John Keen in Court Over Sh10 Million Case

The daughter of the late veteran politician John Keen is in court battling a civil suit where she is accused of damaging property worth Sh10 Million.

Pamela Soila Keen is being sued by businessman Christopher Mbindyo for forcefully evicting him and destroying his property.

During the case heard by Justice Beatrice Thuranira on Tuesday, Mr Mbindyo alleged that Pamela and her workers took equipment from his office which provides secretariat services.

According to the court documents, the dispute arose from an agreement the two had entered in 2007 where Mr Mbindyo rented out a shop at Studio Plaza in the City Center from Pamela at Sh80,000 per month.

Through his lawyer William Kipkorir, Mr Mbindyo stated that the contract was to run for five years and the defendant was aware of it when she kicked him out of the premises.

The complaint argued that Pamela breached the lease without reasonable cause and the untimely eviction negatively affected his business.

Pamela, however, asked for the suit to be dismissed noting that the events had already become irrelevant due to the amount of time that had lapsed.

“The case was filed six years after the alleged incident and I am just a transfer to the claims,” Soila stated.

The matter will be heard next on July 26.
