Prof Kithure Kindiki, the Senate Majority Leader, and his brother Prof Isaiah Kindiki are engaged in a heated battle for the Tharaka Nithi Senatorial seat.
Isaiah, who is vying on an ODM Party ticket, is seeking to unseat his brother who is set to defend his seat under the ruling Jubilee Party.
In as much as the duo hail from the same house, they have totally different political inclination with the incumbent supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta whereas his brother supports Opposition Leader Raila Odinga.
Isaiah is Raila's point man in the county whereas his brother is President Kenyatta's man on the ground.

The brothers, however, note that despite their political differences, blood is still thicker than water.
“Family issues are not political. We remain, brothers who have divergent ideologies,” Isaiah stated during an interview with a local daily.
Kithure and Isaiah, who are both Professors, are well known for their contribution to research.
Prior to joining politics, the brothers served as lecturers where the Senate Majority leader lectured Law at the University of Nairobi whereas Isaiah lectured Agriculture at a South African University.
Their father speaks highly of them explaining that his children exhibited good leadership signs from an early age as they “served as prefects in their respective primary schools".
Tharaka Nithi County is perceived to be a Jubilee Party stronghold as the residents overwhelmingly voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August elections.
