Machakos Gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti was earlier this week cleared to vie in the August polls and in her speech, she erred in a famous Swahili proverb that made her a trending topic on social media.
The proverb is supposed to be, 'Yaliyopita si ndwele, tugange yajayo,' which simply means you should not dwell on the past but focus on the future.
Ms Ndeti, however, said, 'Yaliyo ndwele sipite,' much to the amusement of many Kenyans.
Kenyans on social media swiftly crafted a hashtag, #WavinyaChallenge, to make fun of the whole situation and some of the tweets were absolutely hilarious.
