Parastatal Bosses and Senior Civil Servants From Western Meet To Raise Funds for Jubilee Party

Senior civil servants and professionals and parastatal heads from Western province have organised a fundraiser to support Jubilee party campaigns.

The Sh150,000 a plate dinner will be held at Panary hotel and targets to raise 200 million shillings to finance Jubilee's elaborate campaign.

Leading the initiative is water cabinet secretary, Eugene Wamalwa who has in the past been accused of extensive involvement in politics despite being a civil servant.

Other faces behind the initiative dubbed "Luhya only dinner" are Architect David Situma and Prof  Chris Wanjala.

A sources privy to the details revealed to a local daily that some had complained of being coerced to raise funds.

The source further revealed that ambassadors and diplomats have also been called back to take part in the fundraiser and questioned why civil servants should be coerced to raise funds when not all support Jubilee.

Details from the group meeting reportedly held this Tuesday disclose that participants were to deposit the money to a specified account and present the deposit slip at the dinner.

The team is also tasked with breaking down the Jubilee party manifesto to Western voters.

The region is perceived to be an opposition stronghold.
