Moses Kuria Roughed Up During Jubilee Party Campaigns In Limuru

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria and other members of the Jubilee campaign team were roughed up by a rowdy crowd in Limuru.

The team that was campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid and other Jubilee candidates found the going too rough and had to pack up and end their campaigns in the area.

The Jubilee party blamed Limuru MP John Kiragu for the chaos that saw the rally disrupted for more than an hour.

One person was wounded in the chaos as Kiragu's supporters engaged in a shouting match and struggle to bar the Jubilee team led by Kuria from addressing the residents.

Following the incident, the Jubilee party campaign team led by Moses Kuria under the banner "Mbele Iko Sawa" has now called on independent candidates and those from other parties allied to Jubilee to stay away from their rallies.

Kuria strongly condemned the chaos and called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to investigate Kiragu and take action.

Clashes have been witnessed among supporters of with the independent candidates and those from other parties demanding that the president should not endorse or campaign for Jubilee candidates.

Similar scenes were witnessed in other Jubilee party strongholds with Uhuru facing resistance in Kiambu, Murang'aMeru and Kirinyaga following rivalry between Jubilee candidates and supporters from allied parties.
