NASA Flag bearer Raila Odinga Did Not Help Me in My Political Career - Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba

Budalang'i Member of Parliament and Labour Party leader Ababu Namwamba has stated that National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga did not help him win the parliamentary seat two times.

Namwamba stated that he was elected due to his own efforts and did not thrive on Odinga's fame.

During a recent tour of Busia, Raila said that Namwamba was the chosen Orange Party candidate for the Budalang'i parliamentary seat.

Namwamba dared Odinga to endorse the ODM candidate for the Budalang'i constituency seat, Raphael Wanjala, and see if he will win the seat.

"I heard him (Raila) say he held my hand. Where? I'm the one who campaigned rigorously," he said while addressing a crowd in Funyula on Sunday.

He added that ODM was no longer as strong in Busia as it was when he (Ababu) and his Funyula counterpart, Paul Otuoma were still in the party.

Raila lifted Wanjala's hand at Siagonjo Stadium in Budalang'i and urged constituents to vote for him.

The Opposition leader claimed that he had helped Namwamba to shine politically, only for the MP to ditch ODM for the Jubilee Party.

Odinga compared Namwamba to a housefly that was so hungry that it drank milk to its death.
