Former KTN Editor Aaron Ochieng' Apologises to Joy Doreen Biira Over Theft of Her Mercedes Benz

Ex-KTN editor Aron Ochieng' who was charged with the theft of his former colleague, Joy Doreen Biira's car, is now seeking an out-of-court deal.

Ochieng' who was arrested earlier in the year for the theft of the Sh2.8 Million Mercedes-Benz apologised to Biira for lying and implicating her in the whole incident.

He had been accused of stealing the motor vehicle from the Standard Group (SG) offices along Mombasa Road jointly with others.

However, the former editor claims that he acted alone despite having earlier claimed that Ms Biira was part of the plot.

The two have now been ordered to get into an agreement and have the matter mentioned in court on July 7.

The suspect was apprehended in December and charged with two counts of stealing and handling stolen property.

He was arraigned before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Joyce Gandani where he denied the charges and was released on a Sh300,000 cash bail or a Sh1 Million bond.

In his report to the police, Ochieng' claimed that they planned the theft of the Sh2.8 Million vehicle with Biira for personal benefits.

The editor admitted to driving the car out of the SG parking yard adding that he had been given the keys by the news anchor with an assurance that he wouldn't be stopped at the gate.

He alleged that the two were to report the vehicle as missing and later sell it once the situation calmed down.
