High-profile politicians, led by former Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, flocked to Trans Nzoia County to attend the traditional engagement ceremony of Senator Allan Chesang and his long-term fiancée, Channelle Kittony.
It was all smiles as the young couple interacted with their guests which included businesspeople and politicians alike.
Dressed in a light pink dress, Kittony complemented the Senator's tan and brown long-sleeved shirt and trousers accessorised with a brown hat.
The low-key ceremony featured few guests, with images shared by the guests online alleviating from the usual crowds often seen in Kenyan weddings and engagement ceremonies.
Kitonny is the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure in Trans Nzoia County.
She is the daughter of a renowned Rift Valley businessman, Kiprono Kittony and the granddaughter of former Senator and Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organisation (MYWO) chairperson Zipporah Kittony.
The grandmother served as a politician for almost three decades, starting off as a Kenya African National Union (KANU) MP from 1988 to 2007.
Most recently, she served as a nominated senator on a KANU ticket between 2013 and 2018.
Celebrating the couple, MP Sudi described the bride as the daughter of his good friend and wished them a lifetime of happiness in their new journey.
"I attended the engagement ceremony of Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang and Channelle Kittony, CECM for Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure in Trans Nzoia County," he stated.
"I wish the couple a lifetime of love, happiness, and togetherness as they begin their new journey together."
